Well-Child Visits

How Frequent Are Well Checkups at Jefferson Pediatrics?

DSC_0366Jefferson Pediatrics follows the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics regarding the scheduling of routine well visits for infants and pre-school aged children. We screen all children between 18 months and 3 years old for autism at each well visit.

We recommend children see us annually after the age of 2. In some cases, for children with no ongoing medical issues or concerns, it may be adequate to see children over 5 years of age every other year.

Children with Attention Deficit Disorder and other conditions are also seen annually, usually in the summer, to monitor their progress and to review their ADHD diagnosis and care. Those visits are problem-oriented visits and are separate from routine well visits.
